Atlanta Business Chronicle Names Troutman Pepper Partner James Stevens Among ‘2021 Leaders in Corporate Citizenship’
ATLANTA – James Stevens, a partner at Troutman Pepper and leader of its financial services team, has been named among the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “ 2021 Leaders in Corporate Citizenship.” The award honors those “who have found the perfect intersection of social good and corporate success by integrating relevant societal concerns into their core operating strategies and embracing them as positive for businesses, customers, employees and the metro Atlanta community.”
Stevens was specifically recognized as a “Board Champion” for his efforts to advance the missions of the Atlanta Community Food Bank and The Empty Stocking Fund (ESF).
"We are inspired and grateful for James’ service at the Atlanta Community Food Bank," said Kyle Waide, President and CEO of Atlanta Community Food Bank. "Over the past three years, James has been a crucial part of the growth of the Legal Food Frenzy Competition event, increasing participation by 40% and almost tripling fundraising revenues in 2020. He is an exemplary and thoughtful leader that amplifies the impact of our organization’s work across its 29 county region."
Stevens is dedicated to reducing food insecurity in the region and serves on the Advisory Board for the Atlanta Community Food Bank, which aims to end hunger in Atlanta. The organization’s efforts to address food insecurity in the region are more important now than ever — because of COVID-19, one in four children in the food bank’s service area will go to bed hungry tonight. In his role with the food bank, Stevens helps coordinate its participation in the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy. Last year, the food bank raised over $650,000 in this annual fundraiser.
In addition to his work with the food bank, Stevens gives back to ESF. Since 1927, ESF has worked to provide toys and gifts during the holidays to disadvantaged children — it now supports about 50,000 kids each year. Stevens has served on ESF’s Board of Directors for many years and is a past Chairman and a current member of its Executive Committee.
Troutman Pepper promotes pro bono and community service work throughout the country. Each year, attorneys and professional staff members dedicate thousands of hours giving back to the communities in which they live and work. Stevens will be honored for his service to the Atlanta community in a virtual awards ceremony on Feb. 18, 2021.
