Data Privacy Considerations in M&A Transactions
John Bradley and David Rosenfield were published in the General Counsel Awards edition of the Orange County Business Journal with their article, “ Data Privacy Considerations in M&A Transactions.” The article, a condensed version of the long-form article included in our Corporate Section’s M&A Perspectives semi-annual publication, discusses the heightened need for data privacy throughout an M&A transaction “given the potential adverse consequences of a security breach, which include reputational damage, fines and other regulatory enforcement, loss of business, class action lawsuits, and resulting damages.” Bradley and Rosenfield recommend that, “[b]uyers should engage a dedicated team of data privacy and IT experts to assist from the commencement of an acquisition transaction, and should keep them involved throughout the transaction and through post-closing integration.” Like and share on LinkedIn here.
