Potential government shutdown could trigger emergency procedures at FERC
An Energy practice advisory written by Washington managing partner Amie Colby and Washington partner Daniel Larcamp was the focus of a March 7 SNL Energy Gas Utility Week article.
“Troutman Sanders said [in its March 1 advisory] that if a [government] shutdown causes such an emergency, FERC’s regulations will automatically delay for further consideration actions required during the emergency; suspend certain requirements; and delegate authority to specified staff,” the article stated. “The commission also has procedures to notify the public that it has activated the emergency plan, and would notify the public when normal operations resume.”
A March 9 SNL Daily Gas Report article also referenced the Colby-Larcamp penned advisory.
