The American Lawyer’s top dealmaker: Brink Dickerson
Atlanta partner Brink Dickerson’s legal involvement with AGCO Corporation’s acquisition of GSI Holdings garnered him “ Dealmaker of the Week” honors by The American Lawyer on October 7.
The deal, announced October 3, calls for AGCO to pay $940 million in cash to acquire GSI, which makes grain storage systems and equipment used in chicken and pork production facilities in about 100 countries. The deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close by the end of the year.
According to the article, Dickerson says he sees “robust opportunities for overseas growth” in the agricultural market, particularly in the areas where GSI is a major player. As the global population swells, he continues, demand for grains and meat continues to soar, and AGCO is seizing the opportunity to expand into a corner of the agricultural market beyond its core business.
Dickerson first started working on AGCO matters in 1998, when he joined Troutman Sanders. He’s been the company’s primary M&A and securities counsel since that time.
