Troutman Pepper Alumni Newsletter — April 2024
Please enjoy the spring issue of our Alumni newsletter, which features interviews with Troutman Pepper alumni Jessica Beckett-McWalter, executive VP and chief legal officer at Arconic, and Jim Wheaton, clinical associate professor and director at the Special Education Advocacy Clinic at William & Mary Law School. This issue also includes dates for upcoming alumni receptions and free CLE offerings from PLI.
A NOTE FROM TOM AND AMIE
We are pleased to share highlights from an exciting first quarter as well as note upcoming events in several of our offices around the U.S.
First and foremost, we are thrilled to be working together as the newest chair and managing partner of Troutman Pepper and are looking forward to another successful year ahead. So far this year, we have named six new office managing partners across the firm and have added nine new talented lateral partners in our Health Sciences Transactional, Health Sciences IP, Corporate, Energy, and RISE practices. We have also recently formalized an Incidents + Investigations team that caters to a growing need for comprehensive legal services around data breaches and cybersecurity incidents. Comprised of attorneys from coast-to-coast, the team offers clients 24/7 support in this critical area.
We look forward to seeing many of you at one of our upcoming alumni receptions and at our upcoming Continuing Legal Education (CLE) sessions. In June, we will be launching our annual firmwide Week of Service, where attorneys and business professional staff will volunteer time to many deserving organizations in the communities where we work and live.
You can learn more about these events and other firm-related news and updates throughout this newsletter. Again, we look forward to staying connected in the coming months.
Hope to see you soon.

A NOTE FROM CLARE
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the first hints of warmer weather. As the days start to grow longer and the world shifts into spring, it is a time to reflect on the growth and renewal that this season symbolizes.
Here at Troutman Pepper, we too are experiencing a season of growth and renewal. We are continuously working on new initiatives, expanding our services, and strengthening our community ties. We are excited about the future and the opportunities it holds for us all.
As valued alumni, you are an integral part of our community. Your contributions and achievements continue to inspire us, and we are always eager to hear about your latest endeavors.
Looking ahead, we are planning a series of in-person events that will provide opportunities for networking, learning, and reconnecting with old friends. We will be sharing more details in the coming weeks, and hope that you will join us.
In the meantime, we encourage you to stay connected with us through our alumni network. Please feel free to reach out if you have any news to share, or if there's anything we can do to support you.
