Troutman Pepper Participates in Financial Literacy Project to Promote Economic Empowerment in Underserved Communities
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Troutman Pepper is supporting The Financial Literacy Project, a new initiative by the American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) and Thomson Reuters that is designed to promote economic empowerment by equipping individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to own their financial future. The project has a particular emphasis on underserved communities and youth populations across the United States.
As part of the project, Troutman Pepper’s Victoria Alvarez participated in a video series focused on budgeting. All videos are accessible through the websites of ABA TIPS, FindLaw.com and Abogado.com. Project participants will also be able to access other resources for extended learning opportunities.
“I am proud to support this project and grateful for ABA TIPS and Thomson Reuters for leading efforts to advance financial literacy among underserved groups,” Alvarez said. “This work allows us to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
The ABA TIPS Section unites plaintiff, defense, insurance and corporate counsel to advance the civil justice system. TIPS is a national source of expertise in tort, trial and insurance practice and brings lawyers together to share information and speak out on issues of importance. The section has over 11,000 members and more than 30 general committees that focus on substantive and procedural matters in areas across the broad spectrum of civil law and practice.
