Troutman Sanders Adds 11 Associates in Virginia
RICHMOND, Va. – Troutman Sanders LLP is pleased to announce the addition of 11 first-year associates to its Virginia offices. These new associates are located in Norfolk, Richmond, Tysons Corner and Virginia Beach.

About the new associate in Norfolk:
Jessica Link Martyn has joined the firm’s Transportation practice group. In 2006, Link worked as a law clerk for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division in the Office of International Affairs, and the Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Section, as well as the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Prior to these clerkships, she worked as a law clerk for the 1 st Fighter Wing Judge Advocate at Langley Air Force Base, as a special agent for the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Security Service, and as an intern for U.S. Senator Robert Smith and U.S. Congressman Frank A. LoBiondo. Martyn received a B.A. in Philosophy in 2002 and a J.D. in 2007 from The Catholic University of America.
About the new associates in Richmond:
Clayton De Arment has joined Troutman Sanders’ Securities and Corporate Governance practice group. Before joining the firm, De Arment served as a law clerk for The Honorable Glen M. Williams, United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia in Abingdon, Va., from 2006 to 2007; as a summer associate for Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrère & Denègre LLP in New Orleans, La., in 2005; as a part-time law clerk and summer law clerk for the Office of the Augusta County Attorney in Verona, Va., from 2004 to 2005; and as a legal assistant for Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C., from 2000 to 2003. He received a B.A. in Government and American Politics in 2000 from the University of Virginia and a J.D. in 2006 from the University of Virginia.
Jonathan Downs also has joined the firm’s Securities and Corporate Governance practice group. In 2006 before joining Troutman Sanders, Downs worked in Chicago with the Bluhm Legal Clinic at Northwestern University. Additionally, he served as a legal research assistant at Northwestern University from 2005 to 2006 and as an intern at Cetrulo & Capone LLP in Boston, Ma., in 2003. He received a B.A. in Government in 2003 from Harvard University and a J.D. in 2007 from Northwestern University.
Nora Garcia has joined the firm’s Multi-Family Housing practice group. In 2005 and 2006, she worked for the firm as a summer associate. She received a B.A., with distinction, in Art History in 2003 from the University of Virginia and a J.D. in 2007 from the College of William and Mary.
Lile Trice has joined the firm’s Retail Properties practice group. Prior to becoming an associate, she worked as a summer associate with Troutman Sanders in 2005 and 2006, and as a paralegal for Baach, Robinson & Lewis PLLC in Washington from 2001 to 2004. She received a B.A. in History in 2001 from the University of Virginia and a J.D. in 2007 from Washington and Lee University.
About the new associates in Tysons Corner:
Erin O’Neil has joined Troutman Sanders’ Multi-Family Housing practice group. Prior to joining the firm, she was a summer associate for Troutman Sanders in 2006, and a real estate legal assistant for Arent Fox, PLLC in Washington from 2002 to 2004. She received a B.A., magna cum laude, in English Literature and American Studies in 2002 from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. in 2007 from George Washington University.
Jackson W. Prentice has joined the firm’s Real Estate Finance practice group. Before joining Troutman Sanders as an associate, he worked for the firm as a summer associate in 2006 and as a summer intern with Akridge Real Estate Services in Washington in 2004. Prentice received an A.B., cum laude, in Economics in 2001 from Bowdoin College and a J.D./M.B.A. in 2007 from Wake Forest University.
S. Mohsin Reza has joined the firm’s Complex Litigation practice group. In 2006, he was a summer associate with the firm. From 2003 to 2004, he worked as a legal assistant for Jenner & Block, LLC in Washington. Reza received a B.A. in Government in 2002 from the University of Virginia and a J.D. in 2007 from the University of Richmond.
About the new associates in Virginia Beach:
Robert P. Beaman III has joined Troutman Sanders’ Zoning & Land Use practice group. Prior to joining the firm as an associate, he worked with the firm as a summer associate in 2005 and 2006. Additionally in 2006, he worked as a summer associate for Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. in Norfolk, Va. From 2003 to 2004, Beaman worked as a title examiner for LandAmerica Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation in Norfolk. He received a B.A. in Government and Foreign Affairs in 2003 from the University of Virginia and a J.D. in 2007 from the College of William and Mary.
E. Kyle McNew has joined the firm’s Complex Litigation practice group. Prior to joining Troutman Sanders, he was a law clerk for The Honorable Walter D. Kelley, Jr., United States District Court, Eastern District of Virginia. In 2004 and 2005, McNew was a summer associate with Troutman Sanders. In 2005, he also worked as a summer associate for Alston & Bird. He received a B.A. in Government in 2003 from the College of William and Mary, and a J.D. in 2006 from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
