Troutman Sanders Partner Justin Wood Receives SFNet 40 Under 40 Award
RALEIGH, N.C. – Justin Wood, a partner in Troutman Sanders’ Raleigh office, has been recognized by the Secured Finance Network (SFNet) with a 2020 40 Under 40 Award. The award “celebrates the achievements of young professionals in the secured finance industry — movers and shakers who exemplify true excellence in their careers and who also contribute to their communities and the industry as a whole.” Recipients are regarded as “the future of the secured finance community.”
Wood, who represents lenders and borrowers in all aspects of financing transactions, was recognized for his successful track record with clients and leadership within the firm and the community. He currently serves as president for the Raleigh chapter of SFNet, a position he has held since 2014, and is on the board of directors of Communities in Schools of North Carolina, a nonprofit that helps at-risk students.
“I am honored to join a talented group of industry peers as a 40 Under 40 recipient,” Wood said. “SFNet’s contributions to creating a stronger community and network for our clients and colleagues in the commercial finance industry are unparalleled and I am humbled to be recognized by such an impactful organization.”
At Troutman Sanders, Wood serves in several leadership positions. He is the professional development partner for the Finance and Restructuring practice and a member of the Associate Development Committee. In his practice, he represents public and privately held companies, money-center and regional banks, direct lenders, and private equity sponsors. Wood is experienced in structuring, documenting, negotiating, amending and working out term and revolving credit facilities, asset-based loans, and acquisition financing.
Founded in 1944, SFNet (formerly the Commercial Finance Association) provides networking opportunities and resources to organizations and professionals who deliver and enable secured finance to businesses. SFNet publishes The Secured Lender, which recognized Wood in its September issue. His achievements will also be celebrated at an awards event in June 2021.
