Troutman Sanders’ Tiffany Bracewell Named First Fellow of Federal Defender Program
ATLANTA – Tiffany Nichols Bracewell, an attorney in Troutman Sanders’ White Collar and Government Investigations practice, has received a fellowship attorney position with the Federal Defender Program, Inc., a nonprofit, community defender organization serving the Northern District of Georgia. Bracewell, the program’s first fellow, will serve a six-month term beginning in January 2020 and will represent individuals charged with crimes ranging from white collar fraud to crimes of violence who cannot afford counsel.
“Troutman Sanders is proud to partner with the Federal Defender Program, and we are pleased to support Tiffany’s immersive participation in the program,” said Steve Lewis, managing partner of Troutman Sanders. “As a firm, we strive to be an impactful community partner and give back in areas we can make a meaningful difference.”
“I am honored to be the program’s first fellowship attorney and grateful to Troutman Sanders for its incredible investment in my practice and career,” Bracewell said. “I look forward to serving alongside the Federal Defender Program’s elite team of trial attorneys and fighting on behalf of the program’s deserving clients.”
The new fellowship program allows attorneys to gain courtroom experience in federal court, handling matters that routinely arise in federal criminal cases, including bond hearings, evidentiary hearings, trials, sentencing proceedings, and revocation proceedings.
“Our mission has always been to provide the highest quality legal representation for our clients who would not otherwise be able to afford counsel. The newly created fellowship attorney position advances our mission, and we are thrilled to have Tiffany pave the way as our first fellow. We very much appreciate this generous support of resources from Troutman Sanders,” said Stephanie Kearns, executive director of the Federal Defender Program.
