Two Troutman Pepper Attorneys Recognized by USPTO for Patent Pro Bono Achievements
ATLANTA/RICHMOND, Va. – Ryan Schneider and John Morrissett, attorneys in Troutman Pepper’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, have received the 2020 Patent Pro Bono Achievement Certificate from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The certificate honors individuals and law firms that assist financially under-resourced inventors and small businesses seeking patents.
Schneider and Morrissett are recognized for providing 50 or more pro bono hours in 2020 to the Georgia PATENTS program, which assists solo inventors, nonprofits and small businesses with finding patent agents and attorneys to help file patents on a pro bono basis. Troutman Pepper is a founding supporter of the program, which has grown to assist inventors in South Carolina and North Carolina.
At Troutman Pepper, Schneider is a trusted advisor and lead worldwide IP counsel for multinational companies, research institutions and other organizations. He has over 20 years of experience providing clients with strategic counseling and guidance on a range of IP matters, including the development, protection and exploitation of IP assets.
Associate John Morrissett focuses his IP practice on patent portfolio management and strategic growth, client counseling, prosecution, litigation, and post-grant proceedings, though he also has experience with a wide variety of licensing, due diligence and corporate acquisition matters.
