Troutman Sanders is pleased to host this U.S. Water Alliance event, a discussion highlighting efforts to use watershed restoration actions to help meet new restrictions in water permits throughout the U.S. The presentations will cover water quality trading programs—analysis, design and implementation—in the Pacific Northwest, as well as the legal challenges to solving what the Clean Water Act was meant to solve. The case studies and examples will provide policy makers with background to make informed decisions on quantified restoration actions and credit trading for compliance. This event is facilitated by Benjamin Grumbles, President of the U.S. Water Alliance, and Brent Fewell, Partner at Troutman Sanders. Attending will be an array of representatives from the water quality trading community, including many founding members of Troutman Sanders’ newly formed National Water Quality Trading Alliance, as well as representatives from the USDA, US EPA, and American Farm Bureau.
Speakers include:
- Alex Johnson, David Primozich, and Joe Furia of The Freshwater Trust
- Ralph Meyers and Jim Tucker of The Idaho Power Company
- Brooks Smith of Troutman Sanders
