John is a fellow of The Pepper Center for Public Service. The Pepper Center draws on the talents of the firm's retired partners and senior attorneys to wrestle with tough problems facing our communities. Through the Center, these attorneys study, analyze and work to resolve problems that affect the lives of people in our communities.
John concentrated his practice primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, intellectual property licensing, real estate, and corporate/partnership governance issues.
He represented U.S. and foreign operating companies in a variety of strategic and financial acquisitions and divestitures. He also represented merchant banks, management, consolidation, and investment groups in strategic and serial acquisition programs.
In the corporate finance area, John represented a number of issuers in public and private equity and debt offerings, including venture capital, mezzanine, traditional secured and unsecured financings, and municipal financings. He also represented a number of banks and nonbank lenders in complex financials.
John also provided regular corporate counseling to, and served as general counsel for, a number of operating corporations, LLCs, and partnerships in a variety of businesses, including contract review, licensing issues, litigation strategy, and governance advice.
