Aileen brings a wealth of experience in regulatory and licensing compliance, particularly in the financial services sector. She has advised clients on compliance obligations in mortgage lending, loan servicing, debt collection, and consumer loans. Aileen has also assisted with CFPB readiness reviews, assessing compliance risk, and evaluating compliance management systems.
Aileen counseled clients on regulatory guidance during the COVID-19 national emergency, particularly in relation to debt collection and student loan servicing. Her experience extends to advising on borrower disclosures for consumer credit programs and the development of telemarketing campaigns via text message, SMS, and email. Additionally, Aileen has drafted regulatory procedures and policies in compliance with RESPA/Regulation X, and advised financial services clients on website compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation. She has worked closely with state regulators to obtain approvals, licenses, and regulatory guidance.
Aileen received her J.D. from George Washington University, where she served as a staff member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal and as a mock trial board member at the Public Justice Advocacy Clinic. During law school, Aileen gained experience as a District of Columbia Superior Court intern working on a family law pro bono project. Additionally, she volunteered at the Domestic Violence Intake Center.
