Michael helps clients understand the full array of issues presented by third-party insurance claims. Beginning with matters of policy interpretation and legal precedent, he provides actionable advice for clients at the onset of claims. Michael’s litigation experience also allows him to work hand in hand with clients throughout the life of claims, including mediation, negotiations with insureds, and during coverage litigation. He advises clients on a range of lines: insurance for technology companies; architects and engineers; medical malpractice; health care management liability; employment practices liability; directors and officers liability; commercial general liability; and cyber, privacy and media risks.
Before joining the firm, Michael represented insurers in regulatory and complex qui tam insurance fraud litigation, and defended employment discrimination, medical malpractice and professional liability disputes.
While in law school at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, Michael was a senior articles editor for the Hastings Communications & Entertainment Law Journal, and received Witkin Awards for earning the top grade in his class in civil procedure, trial advocacy and community property.
