Sahara represents electric utilities and renewable energy clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the D.C. Circuit. She advises hydropower clients on all aspects of FERC licensing and compliance under the Federal Power Act, as well as issues arising under other federal statutes, including the Clean Water Act and National Environmental Policy Act. Sahara also advises electric utility clients on transmission, interconnection, and market design issues and advises natural gas clients in certificate proceedings and compliance matters. She is a regular contributor to the firm's Washington Energy Report and Hydropower Report.
Sahara is committed to serving the D.C. area through pro bono work and currently serves as pro bono ambassador at the firm. She is an active volunteer with the DC Volunteer Lawyer's Project where she assists domestic abuse survivors and at-risk children seeking refugee, asylum, SJIS, or VAWA petitions. Sahara also works on criminal expungement matters with Rising for Justice and wrongful conviction matters with the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project.
Sahara recently earned her J.D. from George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School, where she served as notes editor for the George Mason Law Review and as president of the Society for Environmental and Energy Law. Sahara was also a chairperson for her law school's Moot Court Board and received recognition in various appellate advocacy competitions, including the Pace University National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition.
