We advise a diverse range of clients on a full array of air quality and climate change issues. Our attorneys offer far more than just inside-the-Beltway experience. We provide front-line, practical counsel at the federal, state, and local levels.
Our team offers clients hands-on approaches to resolving air quality and climate change matters. We advise clients on everything from air quality permitting and compliance issues to enforcement actions by state and federal environmental agencies and civil lawsuits from citizens groups. Members of our team are ranked in Chambers USA as leading environmental attorneys, with experience litigating global climate change in the U.S. Supreme Court and major Clean Air Act matters in several states.
Our clients include multinational and other businesses, municipalities, and national, state, and local business coalitions from a wide variety of industrial sectors, including agricultural, landfill, manufacturing, and power generation.
We represent clients responding to federal, state, and local enforcement actions as well as other major environmental air litigation at the appellate level and in the trenches at the trial and district court levels across the U.S. Our track record includes precedent-setting resolutions in Clean Air Act litigation, as well as favorable settlement agreements in New Source Review (NSR) and opacity disputes. We offer niche experience in successfully defending landfills against Clean Air Act claims. In addition, we have challenged final federal regulations in the courts of appeal and represented parties at the U.S. Supreme Court in climate change cases.
Our clients turn to us to help them obtain permits and defend challenges to those permits as needed. We handle environmental audits, pre-submittal review of critical compliance documents, environmental agencies, and day-to-day interaction with companies with respect to permitting obligations.
We work collaboratively with professionals such as plant managers, operations team leaders, environmental managers, and in-house counsel to help design best practices to prevent compliance issues in the first instance. We help clients promptly correct and report problems when they are identified and prevent them from recurring in the future.
